Prof. Dr. Friedrich Kremer ... ... was awarded the Wolfgang Ostwald Prize of the Kolloid-Gesellschaft for his outstanding schievents in the characterization of interfaces („in Würdigung seiner Arbeiten zur Analyse von Grenzflächen"). After Physics studies and a PhD from the University of Freiburg, Frieder Kremer worked for several years at the Max-Planck-Institute for Polymer Research (Mainz) and in 1999 he became appointed full professor of Molecular Physics at the University of Leipzig. His work focusses on structure-property relationships in soft supramolecular systems, where special emphasis is given to the dynamics in confined systems as realised in nanoporous materials, in thin (polymer) layers or in nanoparticles. |
| Prof. Dr. Holger Schönherr ... ...was awarded the Raphael-Eduard-Liesegang award of the Kolloid-Gesellschaft to honor his achievements in the preparation of organic and polymer surfaces and their analysis by using scanning force microscopy ("in Würdigung seiner Beiträge zur Herstellung organischer und polymerer Oberflächen und deren Analyse mittels Rastersondenmikroskopie"). His dissertation at the University of Twente (Enschede, The Netherlands) was defended in 1999. After a postdoc stay at Stanford University, he became assistant and later associate professor at the University of Twente. Since 2008 he is full professor for Physical Chemistry at the University of Siegen. |

Dr. Cristina Giordano... ... from the Max-Planck-Institute of Colloids and Interfaces has been awarded the Richard-Zsigmondy-Scholarship of the Colloid Society. The young Italian material scientist of the Department of Colloid Chemistry received the award for her innovative work developing novel routes for inorganic nanoparticle synthesis ("für ihre Beiträge zur Synthese anorganischer Nanopartikel"), which she presented in her award lecture entitled "Cucinare Nano". |
